Meet the LEAF Team
Richard Donnelly is the Program Director and Co-Founder of the Learning Economics and Finance Network, Inc. (LEAF). Before LEAF, Richard developed the Teachers Advisory Committee for the Massachusetts Council on Economic Education, a standing committee of the Board.
Richard earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics at New England College and his Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Connecticut. Richard has been teaching economics for fourteen years at Bedford High School and five years at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Prior to becoming a high school teacher, Richard taught economics for three years in Ukraine and Moldova as part of the Civic Education Project.
Director of Programs
Josh Streit has been a part of the LEAF Network since its inception and is the Director of Economic Education. Josh received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Villanova University in 2004 and his Master of Arts in Teaching from Tufts University in 2008. He is currently on the faculty at Belmont High School as a member of the Social Studies Department and the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach. Josh teaches both AP economics as well as an introductory honors course in economics; both classes cover microeconomics as well as macroeconomics. In addition to serving on many school-based committees and participating in numerous professional development opportunities, Josh has been selected on several occasions by students to be the faculty speaker at the National Honor Society Inductee Ceremony.
In 2012, Josh became involved in economics professional development as a member of the Teachers Advisory Committee for the Mass Council of Economic Education. Since then he has worked collaboratively with the LEAF Team to build, create and enhance professional development opportunities for teachers of economics across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Lori Capra is the LEAF Network's PLC Director of Personal Finance Education. Lori earned her Business Education degree at Rivier University and her M.S. Accounting degree at Southern NH University. Currently she works as a Business Teacher at Haverhill High School as well as an adjunct professor at Northern Essex Community College and Middlesex Community College.
Lori has been teaching personal finance at Haverhill High, a recipient of the Treasurer's Financial Literacy Pilot Grant, for more than 10 years. Haverhill High is teamed with Haverhill Bank to offer bank internships and Credit for Life fair events.
